The Cappadocian Maple is often planted in the cities as ornamental species, due to the brilliant autumn color and dense summer foliage. The native range encompasses a wide area that goes from the Caucasus and inland Turkey to the Himalayas. It was first introduced in Great Britain in 1838. It is one of the few maple species that can re-grow from around the base of the trunk.
