Notes:The Tea plant is usually a shrub or small tree. In cultivation, it is kept at an average height of 3 meters and in a spreading shrub posture (subspecies Sinensis). But in the wild, the subspecies Assamica can grow up to 20 meters! More than 3000 different types of tea are created blending the leaves of different varieties of this tree. The Tea infusion was invented in China, but soon became the favorite drink of Japanese Buddist monks. World tea production is 3.15 million tons annually. The primary producer is China, followed by India.
