Download free 3d plant and tree models from each of the 30 XfrogPlants libraries!

Three to nine 3d plant models are included in each of the 30 species below, and best of all, they are completely FREE! Download the plants, browse their documentation PDFs, try them in your favorite software and see firsthand our high quality modeling work. If you like them, buy and download any of the 3d libraries, instantly from our shop.

Our Botanical experts go out in the field and photograph each plant, for their references and to capture firsthand the leaf and bark textures. They then compare the plant in Nature, to established printed research work, and build 3 to 9 ages of the plant. This set of ages is required for ecosystem work – to give enough variation for instancing the models across a terrain. And if you own Xfrog 3.5, you can easily edit any of the models for additional variations !

    You are free to use these in your commercial projects, though you cannot re-sell them or redistribute them (for example, embedded in a video game).

    Plasticbricks: follow any of the links above to get to the library you want to sample, on the right side of the page, there will be a thumbnail and a link for each of the available formats.

    Alex A: There are 30 species, but the download for each species contains 3 or 9 different models. There are different ages or sizes or even seasons so you can make entire ecosystems without having to repeat the exact same tree over and over.

    Kent: you will find the XFRs included for every format.

    Most of these plants are available in the Terragen’s TGO format, which should be easy to import. For the other libraries, OBJ is the next best format to bring into Terragen.

    thanks very much for these flowers:)especially the dutch iris,i needed that one for a special memorial render for my mom-she loved those flowers.can that one be rendered as the flower & stem also(wanted my angel to be holding a few iris in her hand)i don’t think i’ve tried your plants before,but i’m saving site link & hope to be able to buy more later on:)

    Wow, thanx! Too cool of you guys to provide samples. I’ve haven’t used any of your plants yet, but I read that they are awesome, can’t wait to try them out. I was wondering are the trees for Vue objects (vobs) for singular use, or do them come in .veg for use in ecosystems? Your good Kharma for providing these trees will come back to you ten fold.

    Whoa! Nice. Thank you. The downloads are HUGE tho. I don’t think Billboards and Perspectives are necessary, which amounts to about half of the download size. Any 3D artist worth their salt can make those in a snap.
